With this ongoing series of self portraits, I am interested in using my fat and queer body to create accessible archetypes that exude confidence. The common ground between all of these people is that they use my body to exist, yet I am not any of these characters at all. Playing and feeding into stereotypes and at times subverting the ideas around them, these people live in spaces that may not exist for them yet. I am interested in seeing fat people who are strong and brave, not attached to ideas of weakness, shame, weight loss and lack of health. Beauty, fantasy, desire and performance are used as tools to push the work forward.  Challenging ideas around beauty. Leaning into personal fantasies and using these people as vessels to explore those desires.
